ALEPH V18 Charge

Charge:

Coordinate implementation, testing, and training for ALEPH Version 18.

Duties:

• Work with ITD to identify implementation issues that need to be resolved; solicit input from Campus Contacts and through other means; refer implementation issues to other task groups if necessary; and make recommendations to ITD. Implementation issues that have an impact on USMAI policies should be reported to the chair of CLD for further action.
• Coordinate testing efforts, working with functional task groups (Acquisitions/Serials, RSTG, UITG, and Cataloging and Database Maintenance) to carry out testing as needed.
• Coordinate Version 18 training activities.
• Task Group members must be able to devote several hours each week in accomplishing this charge.

Membership:

The task group shall consist of 5-6 members representing the basic functions within ALEPH: acquisitions, serials, cataloging and database management, access services, and resource sharing. The members should have an in depth understanding of the needs and the functions of the system, as well as an appreciation for the integration of these modules.

A general call for membership will be issued by the Chair of the CLD. The AV18 group will be formed in consultation with the CLD, ITD and the existing task group chairs.
