USMAI Committees and Groups

The USMAI consortium has established various types of groups to carry out the work of the consortium. The following are links to the web sites for each entity.

Current Committees and Task Groups

• Acquisitions Serials Task Group
  A task group appointed by the CLD to advise and make recommendations on requests and priorities relating to acquisitions and serials functionality in the consortial environment.
• Cataloging Policy Committee
  Committee appointed by the CLD to formulate cataloging policy and advise on bibliographic/holdings/items loads into consortially developed databases.
• E-Resources in the Catalog 2 Task Group
  A Task Force appointed by the CLD to study access to e-resources from the catalog.
• Electronic Collections Task Group
  Charged to work together as a consortium to develop shared electronic resource collections.
• Electronic Resources Management Task Group
  Created to examine workflow and other issues within the consortium and to evaluate the products on the market.
• Resource Sharing Task Group
  A task group appointed by the CLD to address issues relating to USMAI resource sharing activities, including patron placed holds, direct borrowing, ILL, and delivery systems.
• Serials Records Study Group
  A Study Group formed to provide the CLD with a brief overview of the issues surrounding the topic of consolidation of serial records.
• User Interface Task Group
  A task group appointed by CLD to addresses issues relating to public interfaces of consortial products, such as the OPAC, Research Port and Find It.

  A task group that has been formed by CLD to coordinate the implementation, testing, and training of ALEPH Version 18.

  A task group appointed by the CLD to coordinate implementation, testing & training of Version 16.
• Authentication, Authorization, and Security Task Group

  A task group appointed by the CLD to address issues relating to the implementation of Authorities.
