To Find the PRINT.INI File:
- Make sure the Aleph Circulation client has been closed before beginning this process.
- From the Windows Start Menu, Right-click on the Start button
- Left-click on Explore
- To expand My Computer click on the “plus sign” for My Computer
- Then expand the Local Disk (C:) Folder, here you should be able to see the AL500_16.02_LIVE folder
- Expand the AL500_16.02_LIVE folder
- Expand the CIRC folder
- Expand the TAB folder. As seen in the image on the right.
- Select or highlight the TAB folder to see the files in that folder

To Open the PRINT.INI File:
- Right-click on the PRINT.INI file, this might also just be called the PRINT file depending on your computer's settings
- Left-click on Open With…
- CLick on Notepad and click OK. As seen in the example on the right
- At this point we are going to create a backup file. Click on File and Save As…
- Save the file on your computer where you will be able to find it; under My Documents is a good place.
- Save using the filename: PRINTINI.backup

To Make Changes to the PRINT.INI File:
- Close the file that is now called PRINTINI.backup
- Reopen the PRINT.INI file from the TAB folder
- Find the line that starts with ReturnHold01
- In this line the 00 needs to be changed to a 08
- After rethold.prn add two spaces and the print id for your campus, for College Park the print id is "cphold"
These changes can be seen on the image at the right.

To Save the PRINT.INI File:
- To save the original go to File and Save As…
- Click on the drop-down menu on the top and click on Local Disk (C:)
- Double click on the AL500_16.20_Live folder
- Double click on the CIRC folder
- Double click on the TAB folder
- At this point, if you can only see folders without any files, go to the bottom of the box and look for Save as type drop down menu
- Click on the drop-down box and select All Files
- Now you should be able to see the PRINT.INI file
- Click on the file and then click on the Save button.
