Topic 1: Minutes of the April 3rd meeting were approved.
Topic 2: New Titles Catalog. While Linda is out, Lenore will monitor responses received through the New Titles feedback form and add them to the wiki. Heidi will respond to anyone who gives their contact information (implying they want a response). Heidi will make a few changes to the feedback form:
Topic 3: AV18 Testing. UITG is waiting for the AV18 Group to meet and decide what to do next. We should know the planned course of action in the next few days. The PDQ Group recommended PPH testing.
Find It is still not linked to the test Catalog. LW will let us know when it is ready for testing. Susan W. will do RXs on the My Account/Saved Items file name display problem in Firefox and on the basket/E-Shelf not saving when the user signs in.
Cindy, Janet, and Heidi will work on the E-shelf screens so that current confusing displays will not distract general testers from testing the functionality.
Topic 4: Renewal of group. The group’s charge expires in August. After discussion we decided to work on request for renewal during our June meeting and to submit recommendation to CLD Exec in June. LW will send us examples of other groups submissions . We agreed that we need to set up a mechanism for membership change. We agreed to recommend reassessing continued need for group in two years. We agreed to recommend more explicit language relating to what we have interpreted to be our charge to work on user interface issues for all products. UITG members are encouraged to think about whether or not they want to stay with the group or rotate off in August.
Topic 5. Title search definition/redefinition. We discussed some of the pros and cons of a Word in Title search that is very broadly defined vs. a search with greater precision. Heidi will investigate the possibility of re-indexing and what the process would be of discussing this issue.
Topic 6. The June 4th meeting will be rescheduled. LW will send out email to UITG to find the new date.
Topic 7. E-News is due on Thursday. LW will draft something reporting progress on New Titles and AV18 testing activity.
