Interface Change Review Process (04/17/06)
- In accordance with each campus's agreed upon vetting practice,
individuals may send an interface change proposal to the User Interface
Task Group (UITG) at interface@itd.umd.edu.
- UITG will post the original proposal on the UITG
Wiki.
- UITG will consult with ITD on the resources necessary to make the
change.
- If excessive resources are not required, then ITD will make the
change in the TEST interface.
If development is required, then the
merits of the proposal will be vetted on COIall@itd.umd.edu before work is
done in TEST. Once resolved, UITG will work with ITD to determine when
the work can be done. In rare cases, when substantial development is
required, the item may be referred to the USMAI development process.
- UITG will post a formal change proposal to COIall, with a deadline
for comment.
- If there is no comment or a consensus is reached within the COI
discussion, then the change will be approved. If consensus is not
reached, then the UITG will make a recommendation for the campus
contacts and request a vote.
- If the change is approved, then UITG will request that ITD implement
the change in the LIVE interface.
