New member Mark Hemhauser was welcomed and introductions made.
Implementation of circulation contacts in My Account was added to the agenda.
1)Renew All/Selected
Heidi has been working on this. She is not certain that Renew All works as it is difficult to test in the test catalog. It appeared to work in her demonstration. She brought sample screens. Suggestions were made for revision of the language and screens. It was decided that the column for Reason for Renewal would be removed until it is working. Heidi will be able to have the work completed by the end of December. Cindy will draft messages to RSTG and Circ COIs requesting additional testing and to Circ for feedback on the best time to take this live.
2)Summary Holdings on Full View of record Heidi has just started her investigation of how this would be done. The group agreed that work on our feedback form should take precedence.
3)Licensing on the FindIt Menu Laura showed a mock-up of the public view of a sample license record. The Electronic Resources Management Task Group has reviewed it and had some suggestions for revision of the language. UITG also had suggestions for making the language more consistent, clarifying meanings and requiring some fields. Laura will bring UITG's comments to the ERM TG and will update UITG as work progresses on the screens.
4)New Index Proposal
UITG was requested to assist with language for the help screen. We discussed the current screen which is misleading and the best way to describe the two indexes dealing with language searches. Cindy will draft language for Help for feedback.
5) Journal title search autocomplete feature The journal title search autocomplete feature is set up in Research Port Test. There is noticeable slowness and Laura would like more testing before going live in January. UITG would like to see the screen adjusted to reduce wrapping in the journal list, but this would not need to be done before the feature went live. Laura will draft a message for the COIs for more testing.
6) Adding circulation contacts to My Account RSTG was asked to provide a list of contacts. UITG was referred to a list on the USMAI web pages, but we decided that the information on that page was not intended for the public. A circulation contacts "help" page can be created, and Heidi can add a link to My Account and to the renewal pages to help users with questions about renewals or non-renewals. She will have a GA check the USMAI library web pages for contact information. UITG members will supply the information for their libraries.
7) 2009 meeting schedule We agreed to continue meeting on the first Tuesday. Most meetings will be at UMCP. HSHSL will be used during periods when parking is tight at UMCP.
This was Linda's last meeting. UITG thanked her for all her great work. We'll miss her a lot.
