New Book List Report
There is no definition of what a new book list is. Each institution can define its own. It can be anything published in the current/past year, or any items added to an institution's collections in the past six months or within the current fiscal year, just to list a few.
New book list report utilizes report-items (shelf list report) program that reads through bibliographic database, Holdings and items, and provides information on items. Like the Shelf List report, the new book list report can retrieve data from Aleph Z13 (short bibliographic record), Z00 (HOL), and Z30 (items), including data from MARC tags as well as sub fields. The selection criteria can be any or a combination of bibliographic data (entire MARC record), Holdings and Items. In case of requesting new additions to a colleciton, item open date (z30_open_date) will be used. However, the display/listing of bibliographic data is limited to what is available in Z13, i.e., up to six fixed (system defined) fields, including year, call no., author, title (up to 100 characters), imprint and issn-isbn. The sorting can be either by title or call number.
Available display/sorting options:
- display: coll/author/title/internal note/open date/call number; sorting: call number
- display: sublib/coll/author/title/format/open date/call number; sorting: call number
- display: sublib/coll/author/title/format/open date/call number; sorting: title
Standard exclusion in item processing statuses:
- EX (expected),
- NA (not arrived),
- NE (not expected),
- NP (not published),
- NR (not received),
- OI (order initiation),
- OR (on order)
