1) Meeting agenda was approved.
2) ITD Report (Hongyan)
a. Aleph “printing dispatch” testing is still in progress.
b. Aleph “closed days” application has undergone two runs of testing. So far, the testing has not gone well. Closed hours is not working properly and it’s very easy to make mistakes. Hongyan noted that there is great potential to cause system-wide problems. La Tanya asked if there was any documentation or information available for the testers. RSTG agreed it may be better to keep Rx procedures in place. ITD will continue to use RX system to update library hours. Hongyan will send out email to this effect.
c. Mark sent out an Rx asking if ITD can develop script to suppress Aleph DOB or other fields. Hans indicated ITD can do this.
d. ITD Timeframe for ILLiad 7.3 update is posted on the USMAI workplan: http://usmai.umd.edu/workplan/ill73.html
ITD will load ILLiad 7.3 on test server for USMAI consortia libraries and College Park. Hongyan will configure application by 10/25/08. DTIS manager will work on authentication through shibboleth for USMAI by 10/30/08. Hongyan will send out email for testing ILLiad through 11/5/08. A second run of testing will be completed by 11/15/08. ILLiad 7.3 will go live on 12/1/08.
e. Update on enabling “groups” on shared ILLiad server for stats generation:
This will have to wait until after ILLiad 7.3 upgrade.
f. Report of patron registrations/renewals by campus:
Tammy will forward the email to Hongyan of institutions that want report and Hongyan will work on making it available. The report will be made available on a monthly basis. October report will be available in November. Mark asked if the generation of the report can be automated and made available along with the other monthly reports. Hongyan indicated that she will look into that possibility.
g. Open Rx request clean up is occurring at some institutions.
h. Aleph 19 release notes:
Hongyan asked us to review release notes and perhaps discuss at next meeting.
3) Circ Subgroup Report (La Tanya)
a. Rx for phase I purge has been submitted, no response as of this date.
b. The parking lot list will be discussed at the next Circulation Subgroup meeting.
c. Everly will send email reminder to everyone concerning updating overdue/in-transit list.
d. Numbers generated in Aleph are sequential.
e. USMAI circulation meeting is in the planning stages.
4) ILL Subgroup Update (Sharon)
a. Hongyan has completed editing of shared ILLiad email templates.
5) RSTG Co-chairs’ Report (Mark)
a. No response from CLD regarding getting FERPA guidelines.
b. Subgroup workplans will be upgraded next year.
c. Hans indicated SSN suppression script for other fields can be done. See ITD update (c) above.
d. CLD’s proposal regarding Phase II patron purge was discussed. We accepted the proposal and will plan our work accordingly.
