Hongyan - ITD Update
V.18 Enhancements- seems like the list of enhancements for campuses will not be going out and ITD will be deciding which enhancements to move forward.
30-60-90 day notices for HS should be up and running.
Open hours management via Aleph is being tested as a pilot project at UMCP.
Tammy suggested that co-chairs contact Carlen about list of enhancements or difference in plans because we need to have consistent communication.
Working on printer dispatch for UMBC (enables switching between printer types).
ILLIAD Connection Manager issues are resolved. Was not uploaded to live database.
Hans is working on testing patches for SSN; this project has taken priority- Phase II purge report should be done after that (before summer).
LaTanya - Circ Subgroup Update
Circ subgroup has not met recently. LaTanya will work with Everly to plan a meeting and determine agenda items.
Robin - ILL Subgroup
LHR (local holdings records) update- to get local holdings into OCLC requires a $350 evaluation. There were questions about funding- LIMS or CLD? CLD needs to be contacted about proceeding.
Robin and Mark will revise Carol's letter then forward it to Celia.
General Discussion:
Discussed standardized book replacement to even out charging by call numbers. LaTanya will submit an Rx to first ascertain the feasibility of such a project, then a survey will need to be sent out to determine prices for each call range and whether campuses would be willing to abide by universal replacement costs. In addition, we will survey whether campuses are willing to accept replacement material in lieu of charging replacement fee.
Multiple ADM- LaTanya will do some research and check with SUNY or Harvard for multiple affiliations
LaTanya will send out questions to ELUNA, SUNY, and Harvard about how they handle Patron Privacy
Group will look into doing more with wikis for communication and to post information and updates.
After the ILL meeting, Mark suggested a "101" type training for ILL because of varying knowledge levels. There was discussion about presenting training using Wimba so that it could be archived- LaTanya and Robin will look into this option.
Robin mentioned planning to visit the 8 campuses again to check up on ILLIAD and re-train if necessary.
Robin suggested updating the RSTG webpage so that it is more user friendly.
Mark suggested using Zoomerang surveys -Mark said UMUC has a subscription.
.
Hongyan requested additional Information about special borrowers and multiple affiliations.
Tammy will send out a survey about special borrowers.
UB, MU, FSU, UBLaw, CS, BS don't have patron loads- Tammy will update and share her procedures for manually registering patrons especially since the SSN will no longer be available.
Response to Celia's email from 2-12-08 about patron privacy, RSTG wants to be made aware of progress. Mark will write note to Celia for RSTG discussion prior to sending.
Mark discussed that the new discounted rates are available for both UPS and DHL. There is no need to change your current business practices; you only need to call either UPS or DHL and request the USM rate and it is available for the entire campus to use. Mark will send out contact information and phone numbers for campuses to take advantage of this discount as well as post it on the wiki.
