USMAI How to Create and Suppress an Acq-created Record

Go to ORDERS at top of screen

Box entitled CHOOSE BIB LIBRARY will come up

Template for an acq-created record will come up

Author & title fields are required
If no author, put in editor; if no editor, put in "No Author"
Use capitals and lower case as appropriate; do not use all caps or all lower case
Do not use initial articles at the beginning of a title, e.g. the, an, a
For example, if title is: A Study in Culture, key in: Study in Culture

Add ISBN if known

Click on ADD box at right of screen, top box
Order Type box comes up; defaults to Monograph; choose correct order type (same as 15.2)
Fill in 3 screens of an order (same as 15.2)
Click on ADD (right screen, lower box)
Click on SEND (right screen, upper box)

To Suppress an Acq-created Record

Go to ORDER (first icon on left tab)
Your order should be showing on the order bar at top of screen; if not, you'll need to search it so it shows on order bar
Click on # 2: OVERVIEW (one of two radio buttons on left side of screen)
Click on CATALOGING (first button on right of screen)

Cataloging template comes up (same process at 15.2)
