Cancellations/Cessations in Aleph
When a title is cancelled or ceases, there are several things that should be updated in Aleph:
Order (Money bag icon, upper left of screen)

Tab 2. General
Order Status – select as appropriate from drop-down box
(You can put additional information in the Library Note.)
Click Update
Subscriptions
Click on [S] Items/Subscriptions

Tab 2. Subscription Info. (1)
To Date: enter date when subscription ended (ex: 12/31/2007). For consistency, always use the last day of the month of the renewal period.
Tab 3. Subscription Info. (2)

Send Claims: No
Change numbers in First Claim, etc. to 0 (zero). The system will change this 181, which is O.K.
Click on Update
4. HOL Links

Click on Edit
Edit the following:

LDR
Record status – C
008
Receipt or acquisition status – 5
Expected acquisition end date – yymm (ex: 0712)
Scroll down and edit:

Tag 866 30 subfield a
This is your summary holdings statement, where you need to reflect the last volume and date received. This will be reflected in the OPAC for your patrons.
Save to server by clicking the server icon with the little red triangle, top right of the screen.
