Checklist for Serial Title Changes

When a serial title changes, the following steps should be taken to ensure that all records are updated to “close” the old title and set up the new one. As you complete each step, write the date and your initials to the left of that step in the appropriate column. Use this checklist in conjunction with the Serial Title Changes in Aleph procedure.

		Find/import bib record in Aleph; create preliminary HOL for new title; close HOL of old title. (Cat: Name)
		Create “see reference” dummy for JOURN stacks. (Cat: Name)
		Update SERHOLD, PIML, Ovid; Update Journal Use Study & Serials Solutions spreadsheets (Cat: Name)
		Close order record in Aleph acq for old title. (ColDev: Name)
		Create order record in Aleph acq for new title include new Swets ref #. (ColDev: Name)
		Notify Swets of new order number (ColDev: Name)
		Delete expected issues for old title. (ColDev: Name)
		Close sub. record in Aleph for old title; mark stats sheet for title change. (ColDev: Name)
		Create sub. record in Aleph from Acq order screen for new title. (ColDev: Name)
		Link new HOL to new subscription record; notify Ser.Cat. that HOL is linked. (ColDev: Name)
		Create pattern; notify ColDev to check in first issue. (Cat: Name)
		Create routing list in Aleph if title is to be routed in-house. (ColDev: Name)
		Create label and space in Current Periodicals for new title. (ColDev: Name)
		Bind final issues of old title; suppress from webpac arrived items in Aleph Items; module remove old label from Current Periodicals; set up bindery for new title. (ColDev: Name)
