InterLibrary Loan:

• ITD implementation team met to plan for upgrade to next version. CP upgrade will be performed first and then USMAI. Need to determine if upgrading during the semester is acceptable to ILL staff.

Authorities in Aleph:

• LTI - limit number of monthly records exported, load missing AUP authority files

Research Port/Find It:

• MetaLib 4 was installed on the test server. Ran an initial round of Upgrade Express which imports test resource and user data.
• Set up SFX A-Z e-journal lists for two instances on test server, in preparation for Metalib 4 work.
• Formed a MetaLib screen group to advise on screen changes in MetaLib. This group includes several members of UITG and will help form recommendations to bring to UITG. The group met and provided feedback on draft screen designs created by the web designer.
• Added to SFX's ALEPH source parser so that it pulls series data. This is used in providing linking for analyzed e-book series.
• To support ERIC work, continued development of SFX's ALEPH source parser to improve determination of whether a campus has access to an online resource.

Electronic Resource Management (Verde):

• Applied August service pack.
• Attended web-based refresher training with others in ERM Task Group and at UMCP.

RX:

• RX Analysis - use of RX database was examined and statistics reported. August RX's- 148 new reports, 153 closed.

Aleph:

• Version 18 cleanup - Problems with PPH, hold display in the clients, hold transactions, PLIF, notice production, print templates and reserves bib data were all identified and corrected.
• UMDPrint - completed test and live table configuration. Added collection codes for BC, CP and SM.
• CatExpress records retrieval and loading for CEES - kept up-to-date with requests; no more records due to CE staff retirement
• Netlibrary loader - set up and loaded Free, SU and UC netlibrary records in test and live
• Accession date algorithm for New Items has been updated regarding material type and item status considerations
• XPT export problems fixed (ocm/ocn)
• new Marcive Full New Online loader developed
• Email and print notices template for CP, UMUC, SM revised
• Patron loader automation - error mesaage handling was updated

Authentication:

• Upgraded Shibboleth to latest version.
• Continued work with Internet2 working group on testing Shibboleth/EZProxy/vendor integration.
• Improved error messaging in login process.

EDI Claims:

• ML: live with EBSCO
• Test and live implementation with Harrassowitz
• BC: EBSCO in test

EDI Invoicing:

• Conference call with Hein conducted regarding EDI invoicing issues

Personnel:

• ITD reorganization discussions and planning
• Training of Hongyan Sun continued in all aspects of circulation and ad hoc report writing.
• Yalan Qi began training as cataloging systems librarian. Her work this month concentrated on loaders, indexing, reports and data cleanup. She worked closely with CPC and ERIC on current loader status and specs.

Meetings:

• ITD reorganization
• ERIC2 meeting, August 14. ERIC is planning an E-book Forum for the USMAI to be held on October 9. The agenda for the meeting was developed. Heidi Hanson will serve as facilitator for the meeting.
