E-Resources in the Catalog (ERIC):
- NetLibrary Loader records were loaded into test and reviewed by staff.
- ITD investigating ISBNs not yet in SFX Knowledgebase.
InterLibrary Loan:
- A big milestone was reached with the USMAI ILLiad implementation, St. Mary's College went into production with lending, borrowing and document delivery on June 16th.
- Sites visits for SU and ES are scheduled in early July and FSU in early August.
Authorities in Aleph:
- Brought test database down to "refresh" it, in preparation for full Authorities reload testing.
- Received the following from LTI:
- 2,946,661 processed bibliographic records were processed
- 1,381,900 LC name/title/series related authority records
- 135,928 LC subject-related authority records
- 22,203 NLM MeSH subject authority records
- reports
User Interface Improvements:
- Finalized interface changes to Find It and UITG gathered comments from COIs. These changes include control over whether ILL or Request (PPH) displays in Find It by format, and other display and wording revisions.
ResearchPort/Find It:
- Prepared for database access changes with new fiscal year subscriptions for USMAI and MDL.
Patron Loader/Email notices:
- UMBC issued new ID cards which included a re-barcoding of the patron records. UMBC also has added a local id to their patron records.
Aleph:
- 2006 Aleph year end closeout process - generated reports, communicated with campus contacts on procedures, resolved problems due to unavailability of ACQ module, completed the process for nine campuses
Authentication:
- HSHSL EZ Proxy testing and configuration completed and went live on June 19th.
- Created updated patron files for UMBC and UMCP's ingenta gateways, to reflect their new barcodes.
EDI Ordering:
- Worked with campuses that are interested in EDI ordering with BBS; scheduled a meeting in August to discuss and understand workflow, profile setup and possible cleanup/testing procedures
- Met with USMAI EDI group and EBSCO staff at ML to discuss and resolve issues regarding the matching points for the EDI loader and other related business
Personnel:
- ELUNA and Technical Seminar attendance
- ALA attendance; Yalan Qi participated in Libraries Build Communities on June 23, worked on house gutting and emergency repair for the Lower 9th Ward, the worst affected area by Hurricane Katrina
Meetings:
- Dave Kennedy presented on our new patron authentication framework (using Shibboleth) at an EDUCASE "Camp Shibboleth" session in New Hampshire.
