USMAI Webpages:
- USMAI page header and footer links have been updated with new content contacts. A new reflector has been created, usmai-adm@itd, for the administration of these web pages.
- USMAI Workplan updated on current projects. A redesign is underway to include more information on current status of active projects.
InterLibrary Loan:
- The upgrade of USMAI ILLiad to version 7.2 is underway. A test enviroment is nearly setup and ready for testing. New authentication scripts have been developed by Dave Kennedy. The ILLiad implementation team and USMAI ILL staff hope to test in November. Implementation is planned for January 2008.
- The upgrade of CP ILLiad is also planned for this fall.
- Set up linking from Find It to ILLiad for BS.
- Dave Kennedy has restructured the file system and web pages so that it is easier to maintain the shared installation
Research Port (MetaLib) and Find It (SFX):
- Worked with UITG on revising screen design for MetaLib 4.
- Janet, Laura, and Dave began applying screen changes to MetaLib 4. Included programming for setting up particular features and configuring SFX e-journal lists to appear within MetaLib.
- Participated in conference call with Ex Libris on Metalib 4.
Electronic Resource Management (Verde):
- Survey on e-resource management needs piloted at institutions represented on ERM Task Group (HS, BC, ML, CP.)
- Latest Verde service packs applied, which includes new SFX synchronization functionality.
RX:
- totals for Oct.- 68 reports submitted, 79 reports closed
- Hongyan has taken on more responsibilities for producing ad hoc reports.
- Efforts to address cleanup reports has increased.
- Efforts to address long outstanding reports has increased.
Aleph:
- Heidi is preparing an environment for testing authorities in V18 test.
- Updated OPAC tips for commnad searching to remove references to indexes no longer in use
- Updated catalog "help" file to change the wording regarding time frame for delivery of requested materials, per RSTG.
- Adjustments to OPAC limit-by-location as requested by SU and UMUC.
- CALI loader - completed processing CALI records for ML
- CP deletion and ES selection of withdrawn items - completed CP-withdrawn items deletion and deletion for ES is underway.
- Implementation of UMES email notices began, there is a local problem sending to nonlocal email addresses. This needs to be solved before we can proceed.
- UMLL hold available notices have been implemented.
- UMBC configured with printer dispatching for receipt printers
Authentication:
- Dave Kennedy continued work with the DLF ILS Discovery Interfaces group. The group's draft recommendations will be available this month.
EDI Claims:
- Duplicate vendor code problem reported last month has been resolved
- BC, SU, and SM are live with EDI claim with EBSCO
Personnel:
- Jamie conducted training session on Aleph for helpdesk staff.
- Peer training for Hongyan on other report programs and Aleph user creation, including x-proxy users.
- Yalan Qi completed 12 hours Ex Libris training on searching and indexing.
- Hongyan Sun completed 6 hours Ex Libris training on reports.
- Training of Hongyan Sun continued in ILLiad and ad hoc report writing.
- Laura Wrubel and Janet Evander attend UserFocus usability conference in D.C.
Meetings:
- Campus visits to UMBC and UB conducted by Jamie and Carlen.
- Campus Contacts meeting conducted and attended by ITD staff.
- ITD staff attended E-Books Forum sponsored by ERIC.
