USMAI Workplan:
- The draft USMAI Workplan was released on September 28th. This workplan presents the priority projects and tasks of USMAI as a hyperlinked web resource as opposed to a single document. The workplan is currently under development and is revised on a daily basis.
Patron Purge:
- On September 18th the first phase of the project to reduce the amount of patron information kept by USMAI was completed. ITD performed the purge according to specifications that were proposed by the Circulation subgroup of the Resource Sharing Task Group. After eliminating patrons with loans or active cash 244,737 patron records were deleted, a little over 30% of the patron database. For more information see the status page for this project on the new USMAI Workplan. Choose "Patron privacy: Patron Purge", then choose "More".
InterLibrary Loan:
- ILLiad Web Reports were released to USMAI ILLiad sites. ILLiad Web Reports provides a global web interface for all sites to run statiscal and user reports.
- An ILL email account was created at UM to be used by USMAI campuses with STMP relay restrictions to allow Odyssey to send emails via the UM mail server.
Authorities in Aleph:
- Authority files have been loaded into live, we are working on getting clients updated. This may take a little time.
- Evaluated steps to bring Authorities in PAC up.
Research Port/Find It:
- We continued work on display of 856 URLs in the Find It menu in the catalog, developing the capability to display multiple URLs when appropriate.
- An improved report form/database for E-Content trouble reports is being developed. The new database will be able to accommodate requests to update SFX and MetaLib.
User Interface Improvements:
- User Interface Task Group furthered the discussion of authorities in the PAC by presenting examples of author searches and search shortcuts screens (from other Aleph user libraries); gathered ideas and opinions.
Electronic Resource Management (Verde):
- Received Version 2.0 of Verde. Consortial data the ERM Task Group had added to version 1.1 was converted and ready for testing in version 2.0.
Aleph:
- Patron Load Automation: we are working the UC to test a nightly update of changed records only.
- Netlibrary: 4,585 records loaded into the live database.

EDI Ordering:
- Generic loader specs produced for USMAI institutions; requested CP Export Profile change and coordinated on BBS CM loader matching point revision.
Personnel:
- The E-Content Team trained new graduate assistant Rhett McCarty on troubleshooting SFX and MetaLib problems.
