Email Notices

Description: The following types of notices are in production at USMAI campuses: daily courtesy, overdue, lost, fine, recall and hold available. Not all campuses are running fine notices, in print or email. The daily courtesy notices are a new service available in Aleph that were brought up originally at CP and is now in production at other campuses. This is an attractive service that not all campuses are aware of. Its level of effort to implement is low compared to other notices. Many campuses are interested in emailing hold available letters. This has proved to be a difficult notice to implement with a high level of effort because it is produced online rather than in a batch service.

November 16, 2006: Update - CP is now producing Hold Available Letters as email. This began as a pilot project at one holds processing location at the end of October and is now being phased into other areas. CP expects to move this function to the other branch locations after the first of the year.

September 21, 2007: Update - the following campuses are now in production with Hold Available letters as email: CP, BC, UC, SM, HS. SU should be in production by the end of September 2007.

October 25, 2007: Update - ML is now in production with hold available.

April, 4, 2008: Update - ES Overdue, Lost, Recall and Hold Available, and TU Hold Available notices are currently being worked on. Development of SU Hold Available notice will begin once ES and TU are complete.
