Authorities in the OPAC Status

Status:

Work began on implementing authorities in the PAC in 2006, prior to the version 18 upgrade. UITG created wiki pages to document progress, decisions, and recommendations: UITG Authorities in PAC wiki page

UITG identified other Aleph customers who have implemented authorities in PAC and examined and evaluated their catalogs. In addition, a group of College Park volunteer evaluators also reviewed these catalogs. Initial recommendations for screen designs were compiled.

ITD created a test catalog for authorities in PAC with a sample set of records in the v16 test environment in summer 2006.

ITD and UITG folks also developed an Authorities in PAC task list.
